Your Conservative Councillors have access to a Community fund from their respective councils, which they can apply for funds to help causes and groups in their area.
Councillor Jonathan Wheeler, County Councillor for West Bridgford South and Rushcliffe Borough Councillor for Gamston North, believes the fund is a fantastic resource for his area(s): 'The fund allows Councillors to support groups, individuals and activities, which may not otherwise get funding. I know how much these funds mean to the people who receive them, and I have been lucky enough to be at events, and meet the people who have benefited from the money.'
'Since my County Council election in May, I have already supported many groups and causes, such as contributing towards a defibrillator for St Paul's Church, money for a new fridge for the Friary Drop in Centre, equipment for a local hockey club, and funding to help two Elite athletes in Edwalton compete, to name but just a few! From my Borough Council fund this year alone, I have supported the Bassingfield community event, the Summer play day event in Gamston, and the funding of a new park bench to go along Grantham Canal. I truly enjoy receiving the applications, and knowing the funding is helping so many people.' If you would like to apply for any funding, please contact your local Councillor through the 'Councillor' tab at the top of this page.
