It is with profound sadness that we have learned of the passing of our honorary Vice President, and dear friend Eddie Fearon, after a short illness.
Eddie served as a Rushcliffe Borough Councillor within the village of Radcliffe-on-Trent for over 20 years, passionately representing the interests of his residents with impassioned speeches and dogged determination. Eddie also served for 10 years as a member of the Cabinet on Rushcliffe Borough Council, as the portfolio holder for Community Safety, where he fought for the interests of the whole Borough. Eddie served as Deputy Mayor in 200/2001, and Mayor of the Borough in 2002/3, with the same determination and his cheerful approachable manner, which earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and residents.
Eddie was also a key member of the local Rushcliffe Conservative Association, organising numerous fundraising activities and providing valuable assistance to fellow Councillors during their election campaigns. His achievements were recognised with his appointment as Honoury Vice President in 2016 after a year as Vice Chairman.
Our thoughts are with his Wife Avril, Family and Friends at this sad time.
