Councillor Jonathan Wheeler joined PCSO Sherrylee Sampson, PCSO Jonny Wilkinson, and Judith Brown from Rushcliffe Borough Council, along with some of Rushcliffe's Police Cadets for a Community Safety Event at Gamston Community Hall. The event allowed residents to bring their bikes down to be security marked, swap their old locks for new ones, and to also get free shed and gate locks, to improve their home security.
Councillor Jonathan Wheeler, Member for Gamston North, helped to organise the event and was happy the event had got off the ground. 'Unfortunately Bike crime is still going on in the local area, so we felt it important to host a event ahead of the summer to help people to keep their bikes safe. The shed and gate locks add extra protection and peace of mind for local residents' 'We are hoping to hold further events in the area, and I thank everyone for their help in organising the event and attending.'
