The Conservative Group at Rushcliffe Borough Council are delighted to announce Simon Robinson JP as the new leader of the group, and the leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council. Simon replaces Neil Clarke MBE, who has been leader of the Group and Council for 12 years, and has stood down to focus on other interests.
Simon was elected to represent Edwalton back in 2011. In 2014 , he was appointed onto the Cabinet with responsibility for Finance & The Economy.
In 2015 , he was elected as Deputy Leader of The Council. He has also served on the Planning Committee, Alcohol Licencing , Performance Management Boards., Civic relocation Committee and the Edwalton Golf Course Asset Review.
In 2015 , he established and Chaired the Growth Boards for West Bridgford and Bingham / Radcliffe as well as sitting on the Cotgrave Strategic Board.
Simon has lived in Rushcliffe for over 30 years and currently owns and runs businesses in Property , Leisure and is a Partner in a London Investment Syndicate.
He has sat as a presiding Magistrate on the Nottingham Bench since 2010 , qualifying as Magistrate Chairman in 2016.
